Connor recently turned 21. For his birthday, he chose to ride his bike along with 2,000 other bicyclists in the Courage Classic, which takes place in the mountains of Colorado, where riders travel up to 150 miles to raise money for Children’s Hospital Colorado.
Connor, who raised $2,290 for the Sie Center for Down Syndrome where he is a patient, was the captain of a 25 person team that raised nearly $30,000, but his efforts to help others like himself do not start or end there.
As a member of the National Down Syndrome Society, Connor also advocated strongly for the Colorado ABLE Act, which allows young adults with disabilities to open tax free savings accounts that they can use for expenses relating to their disability. This year, he received the annual Global Down Syndrome Foundation’s Leadership Award for his hard work and dedication to helping others.
As an accomplished athlete, as well as an experienced actor and musician, Connor sees the potential in others with Down syndrome to chase their dreams. That’s why he strives to give back to the Down syndrome community and the Sie Center at Children’s Hospital Colorado, who have helped him develop into the amazing person that he is today. For Connor, he wants to help people in the same way that people have helped him, and he is off to a great start.
